Housing committee volunteers to help update Boardman’s code, seeks champions for hearings

Near the close of the meeting the committee agreed to assist Carla with drafting and advancing development-code amendments. Multiple members said they would help by testifying at hearings and by reviewing a brainstorm list of code revisions that Carla will prepare.
Carla said she would walk the committee through the city’s strategic-planning web page at the next meeting and present a refined draft list of items the group should prioritize — including zoning-map issues, ADUs, cottage clusters and a proposed single standard for residential structures that would allow a range of building materials and production types. Committee members emphasized the need to avoid duplicating work the city already pays for and to coordinate with the buildable-lands inventory.
