District staff answered that a new truck costs about $120,000 and that the used vehicle had been inspected by a mechanic; the refrigeration unit hours and the truck's condition led staff to recommend the purchase. Staff reported the truck had about 91,000 miles and that they typically expect a usable life of roughly 200,000 miles from similar vehicles.
The board moved and seconded the recommendation and approved the purchase by roll call. Staff will proceed with the procurement and monitor the truck's performance as part of fleet operations.
