KCKPS says nearly 800 responses will shape steering committee and aim for 2026-27 implementation

Kevin Hansford said the district collected community feedback through ThoughtExchange and will form committees to turn that input into concrete goals for the strategic plan.
"We received, close to about 800 responses through our ThoughtExchange, which ended up with, I think, 9,000 connections..." Hansford said, describing the volume of submitted ideas. He said the steering committee will translate that input into goal areas and review mission and vision language.
Hansford said the district intends to bring focus areas to the school board for affirmation, then form district action teams including staff, students and community members to develop the action steps that will appear in the final plan. He said that work is intended to be ready for implementation for the 2026-27 school year.
Superintendent Dr. Anna Stubblefield gave a near-term schedule for public participation and committee activity: January'February for team formation and March'May for plan development, with ongoing opportunities for community feedback as drafts are refined. She directed listeners to kckschools.org for updates and to learn how to remain involved.
