Transfer-station contractor posts higher fees; town must seek zoning permit for new shed

Town Administrator Trish Waugh told the Selectboard that Acker Waste Management has posted new rates for the transfer station that include a $2 increase in trash fees, listing $10 for large trash and $8 for small. The Selectboard’s contract with Acker is pending signature and Trish said she will follow up on contracting details.
Waugh also reported the transfer-station shed is larger and will require a zoning permit; new signs for the shed must also be posted. Chair Tim McGowan said a bear has damaged the food-compost shed and the town has temporarily used metal tin as a deterrent; repairs are needed to restore the structure. The minutes record that Trish will follow up on contract finalization, zoning and signage work.
