Board President Randy Lopez described the election procedure and counted the submitted votes. Wanda Brownlee Page received the four required votes and was declared vice president to serve the remainder of the school year. "So Miss Brownlee Page has the four required votes to become vice president. Congratulations, Miss Brownlee Page," Lopez said following the tally.
Board members moved and seconded the agenda items that included the election process and later congratulated Brownlee Page on her new role. The board did not record dissent on the election outcome in the public roll call that followed.
