Staff explained the resubmission follows a prior application and that adjustments were made to the project scope following DNR guidance; the city anticipates a funding gap and hopes the updated application will be more competitive.
Staff explained, "So the resolution, it was passed before in April. So we're just resubmitting the CDBG app for grant funding for that," and council members noted the project needs additional funding from CDBG to move forward. Staff indicated roughly half the funding would be provided or matched locally and that there remained an approximate $220,000 shortfall in the current plan.
