The council moved to approve Resolution 2024-12 authorizing the application and empowering the mayor to provide required assurances; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Staff emphasized that grant awards are competitive, the project would depend on securing right-of-way or easements, and the city could withdraw the application if it determined the local match was not feasible later in the budget process.
