Commissioners received presentations from codes, legal/court and fire/EMS staff and heard a public comment before adjourning.
Public commenter Gary Oles told the commission that accurate sales-tax forecasting is crucial to avoid resorting to property-tax increases. "One of the keys to good budgeting ... is the estimation of sales tax revenue," Oles said and cited last year's collection at about $10.28 million.
After presentations and questions, Chair (speaker 8) called for adjournment. A motion was made and seconded; the commission voted by voice and the motion carried.
No formal budget or millage decisions were adopted at the session; staff will return with additional line-item breakdowns and revenue certification information for future deliberations.
