The recommended scope includes typical mill-and-overlay work, concrete curb repairs and, for some streets, a leveling course followed by a two-inch overlay. Staff noted a cooperative arrangement with the county on East Street that could include a future annexation negotiation once the county completes its share of work.
Commissioners asked about storm-sewer needs on Webster Street and whether some larger stormwater projects should precede paving; staff said full storm sewer reconstruction would be significantly more expensive and would be programmed separately. The commission voted to award the contract and staff will schedule a pre-construction meeting and notice to proceed.
