Danny Gamblin, head of maintenance, reported that temperature gauges were being installed in pump-house rooms, ditch repairs were completed (seeding and mulching pending), and that Ralph Guffey Excavation aided with ditch repairs. He presented a quote for a new salt-and-sand spreader of about $9,000 and said he would repair the old spreader in the meantime.
During the maintenance discussion the council voted to go into a 10-minute executive session for non-elected personnel at 7:50 p.m. (motion by Matt Craig, second Cheryl Miller); the meeting returned at 8:01 p.m. with no action taken. The minutes also note Danny has collected asphalt bids for next summer and raised the idea of a local purchasing policy.
