Council approves volunteer parks projects but excludes concession-stand exterior

Parks and Recreation expressed concerns about the proposed exterior work on the concession stand (the board worried about materials and scope). Maintenance head Danny Gamblin offered to lend materials from the maintenance shop and helped the volunteers plan logistics. Council approved the volunteer projects but excluded the exterior concession-stand work; the minutes record the motion as "I move to approve the community service projects presented (except the exterior of the concession stand)." The planned community workday is Nov. 6.
