During public business on Jan. 22, a resident raised procedural concerns about a proposed playground replacement, noting the Park Board is advisory and asking why three bids and a formal recommendation had not been presented to the council. The resident said the playground build is scheduled to occur in approximately five months and urged the council to ensure transparency and accountability around bidding, costs and fundraising.
The minutes record the Park Boardper staffis considered advisory, and City Administrator Matt Jensby said Play by Design will be presented as a sole-source vendor with a sole-source justification included when the project comes to council for approval. The resident asked for a discussion at or before the Feb. 12 council meeting to clarify procedure, funding and timelines.
