Wolfson explained why the compacted course is offered, summarized student performance data used for placement, and described options for students who do not enter the compacted pathway. Committee questions focused on placement criteria, online course availability, observed trends for female students and how the district monitors student stress—Wolfson said the C+ benchmark will be used to monitor progress.
Committee members agreed to continue monitoring implementation and requested parent communications about upcoming changes. Administration described planned professional development and 'turn off time' parental controls for Chromebooks before introducing them in sixth grade; an update to the Student Acceptable Use policy for FY27 was also noted.
