KOHSA reentry report: acceptance rate falls to 28% in July; fundraiser nearly reached goal
Summary
Reentry chair reported 99 accepted applications of 236 (42%) across May–July; July acceptance rate was 14/51 (28%). Reentry fund balances and cumulative spending were provided, and a T-shirt fundraiser raised $4,700 of a $5,000 goal.
The Reentry program presented monthly statistics and a fundraiser update at the July 12 KOHSA meeting in Olathe.
Acceptance rates reported were 44 of 90 (49%) for May, 41 of 95 (43%) for June, and 14 of 51 (28%) for July to date — a three‑month total of 99 accepted out of 236 applications (42%). Financially, the Reentry program reported a checking balance of $2,501.73, savings $1,090.00, combined $3,591.73. Reentries funded in 2025 number 43 (total spent $6,695); funded since 2023 total 184 (total spent $27,720). The T‑shirt fundraiser sold 188 of 200 shirts and raised $4,700 toward a $5,000 goal; a raffle for an 85” Roku Smart TV remains active with $10 tickets.
The Reentry report was accepted by the assembly (MSP); the minutes include contact information for members interested in joining monthly Reentry meetings scheduled for the first Saturday at 8 a.m. via Facebook Messenger (next meeting 08/02/2025).
