The Kansas Oxford House State Association reported that its 2024 expenditures exceeded planned revenue by about $18,000. In the Budget and Finance report, the state spent $124,071.25 of the $125,000 itemized budget, and additional expenses of $18,900 were paid from reserve funds, yielding the net overrun.
"We went $18,000 over budget for the year," the Budget and Finance report summarized, and the committee said some of that was offset by fines collected and a September increase in bed dues. The report listed line‑item details: State meeting costs ($10,732.25 of $11,500), food ($1,965.17 of $3,000), travel ($7,067.08 of $6,700), IT ($3,039 of $2,700) and transfers to savings ($1,200 of $1,200).
Treasurers and the Budget and Finance presenter noted specific timing issues that affected the 2024 totals, including a WordPress charge carried forward from 2023 that inflated 2024 IT spending but will not recur in the 2025 budget. The committee said it will meet to finalize the 2025 budget proposal and, as required by the by‑laws, present that proposal at the next state meeting in March.
