The commission approved conditional-use permits on July 15 to allow duplexes at 808 and 816 South Cypress in the R‑1 low‑density residential district, subject to a condition requiring sidewalks along South Cypress to meet city standards.
City planner Wilms presented the two applications together, reported that the planning commission recommended approval, and said both lots are suitable for the proposed duplexes. “Staff recommended approval…with the condition that the sidewalk along South Cypress for the entirety of the property is completed in accordance with the city standards,” Wilms said.
Commissioners raised questions about parking and garage sizes but noted that the current action approves the conditional use rather than final building plans. The motion to approve the permits carried on roll call.
