Heritage Pines board approves $19,200 Premier Lakes contract for pond algae treatment

The Heritage Pines Community Development District board voted Oct. 15 to hire Premier Lakes, Inc. for pond algae treatment under a $19,200 contract.
District Manager Chuck Adams presented the proposal and said it represents an overall cost savings of about $3,200 per year compared with the existing SOLitude agreement. Adams told the board he would initiate SOLitude’s 30‑day termination clause so SOLitude’s services end Nov. 30 and Premier Lakes would commence service Dec. 1, 2024. On a motion by Michael Walsh, seconded by Carol Vaughan, the board approved the proposal unanimously.
Resident Susan Napolitano asked what chemical SOLitude uses. Adams said SOLitude applies a copper‑based product targeting algae and that any odor is from degasification of the algae and typically lasts a couple of days. The board’s minutes record Adams reviewing the Premier Lakes scope of services and the contract dollar amount.
