The council discussed options for acquiring automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for departments, including rental, lease‑purchase or direct purchase. Council members noted the option to buy six AEDs through Osage County EMS but said departments would need to pay their shares up front.
Council member Cheryl Miller moved to enter into a short rental agreement and to pursue budget or grant options for future purchase; the motion passed 3–0. The council also voted to allow AED payments via ACH. Staff were directed to pursue short‑term rental while developing funding approaches for 2026 or later procurement.
