Ottawa City opens sealed bids for municipal fleet; low offers vary by vehicle

"Our 1st bid is from Master Tech Truck and Equipment, and the quote is for $66,455.25," the clerk read when announcing the first item. Across the set of bids, Laird Noller Automotive was the lowest bidder on several pickup and flatbed items (for example, $57,812 on multiple 0.75-ton crew cab pickups and $83,910 on the 1-ton flatbed in bid 26-028), while PFVT Motors and Master Tech posted lower bids on select items depending on configuration and optional equipment.
The bid opening recorded both base unit prices and optional-equipment prices where provided; for example, bid 26-031 listed a PFVT Motors complete-unit price of $75,285.73 and optional equipment priced at $12,270. The clerk closed the session after reading the final submissions. Ottawa City officials will review the bids and return with award recommendations; no awards were announced at the opening.
