Ozawkie law enforcement and utilities updates: incidents, striping, and ABATE water issue

Mayor Loren Lutes read the law enforcement report at the Sept. 9 meeting: 2 code enforcements, 5 safety enforcements, 1 domestic disturbance, 1 neighbor disturbance, 7 building checks and 1 lewd and lascivious act currently pending with district court. The report was provided as part of routine departmental updates and no further action was taken at the meeting.
Councilmembers also noted streets work: striping along Main Street has been completed. Councilmember Kevin Klenklen addressed an inquiry about striping over sealing along Kansa Street and told the contractor that the city had not performed additional sealing since the original striping. In utilities, Klenklen reported the Fire Department did not provide water to ABATE this year after last year's distribution used more resources than intended without payment or donation to the Fire Department or the city.
