The House Committee on Local and Private considered multiple bills that would name short segments of state highway and designate a scenic byway across several counties. The Chair read each bill into the record and, after a brief clarification about mileage from Senator Barrett, the committee advanced the measures by titled, due-pass motion and instructed the clerk to record the committee's recommendations.
"Motion is titled sufficient due pass," the Chair said when calling for the vote; the Chair then asked for aye votes and, seeing no opposition on the floor, directed that the actions be recorded. The measures discussed included memorial namings in Jones, Itawamba and Yazoo counties and a scenic-byway designation in Chickasaw County.
