"On March 9, I am actually in a superintendent's group...and I would like the opportunity to attend," Superintendent Robert Fitzpatrick said during the meeting, describing the cohort organized by the Harlem Children's Zone, the William Julius Wilson Institute and a Harvard redesign group. Chair called for a motion; the board approved the schedule change after a motion and second.
The change was presented as an administrative scheduling request rather than a policy item. Board members did not debate alternatives on the floor; the motion passed unanimously. The revised meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on March 16, according to the board announcement.
