Operations staff explained next steps on the softball-field issue and potential costs to bury a power line with Duke Energy before netting or fencing can be installed. The board approved the capital projects unanimously.
Administration also presented an elementary-device refresh plan that would shift an upcoming Chromebook refresh to an iPad rollout (with MacBooks for teachers) to support classroom collaboration and Apple classroom tooling. The technology presenter said the district will include teacher training as part of the rollout and expects to phase devices in over the summer so teachers have time to prepare.
