NRAC conducts strategic-planning exercise to set 5–10-year goals

The commission revisited its mission to advise City Council on protecting Orem’s natural resources and conducted a strategic-planning exercise to generate 5–10-year headline goals and one immediate action. Commissioner Hilary Hungerford facilitated the exercise; participants chose focus areas including local agriculture, healthy ecosystems, water-wise landscaping, outdoor recreation, waste and recycling, clean air, green space, and energy efficiency.
Participants used a three-column worksheet labeled "Headline, Story, and Action" to describe desired long-term outcomes, the steps to reach them, and a single action to begin this year. Hilary will collect and process the worksheets, identify common focus areas, and return prioritized results to the commission via email, with Jenn Gale providing a supporting photo and notes.
