Marcia Manley delivered the Planning Commission report and said she has reached out to tribal contacts after learning the Chehalis tribe may have previously conducted cultural-resources work at the local park. Manley said that earlier work involved documenting and in some cases relocating remains and that future site work involving digging will require cultural-resources review and appropriate tribal coordination.
Manley also said the commission is collecting photos to advertise the park as a wedding venue and will forward images to Amy for potential enhancement. On facilities, the commission plans to relocate the small lift station that serves park restrooms closer to the road to improve pumping efficiency; the bathrooms themselves will remain in place and only the lift station and associated equipment will move once weather permits.
