City schedules pump motor replacement and installs generator for lift station after equipment failures
Summary
The water department ordered a new high-service pump motor after a spare pump was found bad; the chlorinator head and ejector were installed and chlorine levels are good. City staff reported a series of water and wastewater repairs. The city ordered a replacement motor for the high-service pump at the water plant after the spare pump on hand was found not to work. Staff installed a new chlorinator head and ejector and reported chlorine levels within acceptable range. Two in-home shutoffs were performed for interior leaks and one old meter was replaced.
At the wastewater lift station staff replaced a lost-phase sensor on Jan. 10, 2023 and ordered a replacement float after finding the lead float inoperable; a new generator for Lift Station 1 was delivered and city staff expect installation in one to two weeks. Separately, a contractor reported the sewer line at 607 Wilson Street was completely collapsed and will extend the clean-out in spring to provide future maintenance access.
