The Jefferson City Council approved two administrative designations at the Jan. 6 meeting. M. LaFleur moved to designate the Leader Courier as the city’s official newspaper; M. Stokely seconded the motion and it carried. Later, M. Stokely moved to designate Liberty National Bank as the official city depository; J. Casper seconded and the motion carried.
Both actions were recorded as motions and carried by the council; the minutes do not record individual roll-call votes or discuss alternative options. The designations establish the official newspaper for public notices and the bank for city deposits until changed by future council action.
