Sheriff says Civil Service Commission oversight rests with commissioners; council to include public email on policing oversight

City Clerk Amy Weaver said the city received an email on Feb. 7 from Mitch Patton requesting public comment and review of Civil Service Commission oversight for SCSO policing services. Weaver said the email will be included in the Feb. 24 City Council packet for public viewing.
The items were reported for the record; no formal council action on policing oversight or the Civil Service Commission was recorded at the Feb. 10 meeting.
