City Manager Albert Tripp asked the council to authorize issuing a notice of termination to West Central Community Center for space leased in the municipal building that has historically housed WIC services for approximately $140 per month.
Tripp said the city’s growth has increased facility and staffing needs and that staff are working with WIC to identify alternate local sites, including Arrowheads Baptist Church and rooms at the recreation center; the city is also working with a realtor to find relocation options. "This space has historically been leased ... for about $140 per month," Tripp said.
The council approved issuing the notice with five votes in favor and one abstention. Tripp and council members described the action as creating space for city services while coordinating relocation with WIC.
