Council approves permanent code compliance officer job, citing need to retain contractor expertise

Troutman said the role is separate from police nuisance work and emphasized training and continuity: "We're hoping to continue the great work Craig Brandon is doing and not have a fall through," she said, and noted Brandon has agreed to help train a new hire. A council member added that Brandon’s background (law enforcement and engineering experience) will be hard to match.
The council moved and approved the job specification and recommended salary unanimously, allowing staff to advertise the position and begin recruitment.
