Council tables mayor pro tempore election and holds executive session
Summary
On a 3-0 vote the council tabled election of a mayor pro tempore; CAO Taylor Chambers confirmed she would assume responsibilities when the mayor is absent. The council recessed to an executive session beginning at 7:47 p.m., extended once, and adjourned at 8:12 p.m.
The North Bonneville City Council considered election of a mayor pro tempore on March 24 but tabled the item. Councilor Margie Lee moved to table the election and Councilmember Mary Helms seconded; the motion carried 3-0.
"The Council could wait until there were more council members," Mayor JB Tennison said during the discussion. CAO Taylor Chambers told the council that if the mayor were out of town, responsibility would fall to her and she said she was comfortable assuming that role.
After regular business the council recessed to an executive session at 7:47 p.m. under RCW 42.30.110; the session was extended from 8:02 p.m. to 8:12 p.m., after which the council adjourned at 8:12 p.m.
