Planning commission approves draft Critical Areas amendment; SEPA notice to follow

Planning Assistant Carol Korst reported to the council that the Planning Commission held a special meeting on March 12 to hear a public hearing on the draft Critical Areas Ordinance amendment. Jackson Civil Engineering presented the proposed changes; Korst said there were no public comments and the Commission approved the measure to move forward to SEPA review.
"There were no comments from the public, so the hearing was closed and put before the Commission for consideration," Korst said. She added that the SEPA notification had been placed for publication in the Skamania County Pioneer. Korst also reported that City Planner Richard Hall and Harold Cook joined a virtual meeting with the Energy Facilities Site Evaluation Council to discuss the proposed Cascade Renewable Transmission Project.
The report was informational; no council action was taken at the March 24 meeting. Staff indicated they would bring the interlocal building-permit agreement revisions and the finalized planning package back to council when ready.
