The North Bonneville City Council voted 3-0 to open recruitment for two vacant council seats, each with terms ending Dec. 31, 2027. The council also set two special public meetings for candidate interviews on April 18 and April 28, 2026, both starting at 6:00 p.m. and immediately followed by regularly scheduled council meetings.
Councilmember Mary Helms made the motion to open recruitment; Councilmember Margie Lee seconded and the motion passed unanimously among voting members present. Councilmember Lee and City Attorney Dan Curtis clarified the process: interviews, if held, must be conducted in public and any recess to executive session is limited to discussing candidate qualifications; the final appointment vote must occur in public session.
The council signaled it would follow the recruitment method used in 2016. Interested applicants should watch the city notices for application details and deadlines.
