North Bonneville Mayor says $400,000 streets grant must be added to budget; final budget rescheduled

Mayor Brian Sabo told the North Bonneville City Council that the city had been awarded a streets grant of approximately $400,000 and the amount needs to be added to the final 2026 budget. "We will need to adjust the budget to add the grant of approximately $400,000 we were just awarded for streets," Sabo said, and the council agreed that the final budget should be rescheduled so staff can incorporate the award.
Sabo emphasized timing was critical. "We can lose that $400,000 grant if we can't get it signed in time," he told the council, urging a fast administrative follow-up. The council did not take a final vote on the budget at the Nov. 25 meeting and directed staff to return with an amended final budget at the next scheduled meeting so the grant can be included.
