Keystone trustees approve April claims, permits and multiple business licenses

The Keystone Board of Trustees approved routine minutes and claims and passed a slate of permits and business licenses at their April 1 meeting. Trustees unanimously approved the March 16 and March 18 meeting minutes and accepted claims presented for April 1, including a General Fund total of $20,407.44; the board also recorded fund totals of $3,873.25 (211 Fund), $10,758.55 (300 Debt Service), $7,526.85 (Water Fund) and $14,390.27 (Sewer Fund).
The board approved a grading permit (GP4-1-26) for Sherry Smith at 721 Madill St. and accepted an estimate from MH Builders for $3,877.56 for concrete work at the schoolhouse. Trustee David Cofoid moved to approve the MH Builders estimate; Trustee Nikki Ball seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The board approved a package of business licenses (including American Pines; Black Hills Glass Blowers; Black Hills Wilderness Edge Adventures; Cruizzers; Cruizzi; Gold Diggers; Halley’s West; Hills Hospitality Management; Kemps Kamp; Keystone Boardwalk Inn & Suites; Keystone Pub Grub; Keystone Super 8; Mackabee Clothing & Gifts; Mt Rushmore T-Shirts; Roosevelt Inn; Rushmore Borglum Story; Rushmore Express Inn & Family Suites; Rushmore View Campground; Sleep Land LLC) with recorded individual abstentions on two separate motions: the Earth Treasures Rock Shop & Antiques license passed with President Casey McNulty abstaining (yes: Ball, Cofoid, Parks; abstain: McNulty). A subsequent business-license motion passed with Trustees Ball, Cofoid and McNulty voting aye and Trustee Parks abstaining. The board also approved a contractor license for RainTite Roofing (Dietz Contracting LLC).
