The Nooksack City Council opened a public hearing on the Nooksack Property Holdings short plat and subdivision variance at 7:08 PM and, finding no public comment, closed the hearing a minute later and returned to regular business. Public Works Director Todd Daniels recommended changing Condition of Approval #12 so finished ground elevations would be 2 feet above the nearest base flood elevation, citing a forthcoming flood zone map that will be adopted within a year.
City Planner Rollin Harper told council he recommended tabling the item to allow the applicant time to consider the revised flood-elevation requirement; no final decision or vote on the short plat or variance was taken. The council scheduled further consideration for the next meeting so the applicant can respond to the proposed Condition #12 change.
