Highway superintendent: 425th Ave construction set to start; BRIC grant denied for bridge work

Highway Superintendent Dave Sorenson updated the Kingsbury County commissioners on local road work on April 9, saying seasonal road postings have been removed and that “construction would start next week” on the 425th Avenue project.
Sorenson reported core samples taken on 215th Street were largely satisfactory with a few spots needing extra consideration and said Redstone Dairy wants to move forward on a project and will cover the engineering costs. Sorenson also informed the Board that the BRIC grant application for Structure Number 39-070-041 was denied; he said the next step is to prepare bid documents and resubmit grant applications or seek other funding.
