Kingsbury County approves study, coordinates with Riverview LLC on Redstone Dairy roads; 425th Ave bids scheduled

Highway Superintendent Dave Sorenson told the Board he scheduled the county highway bid opening for March 3, 2026, at 9:00 A.M. and reminded commissioners that bids for the 425th Ave project would be opened Feb. 24 at Civil Design, Inc. in Brookings. "Sorenson informed the Board he had scheduled the highway bid opening for March 3, 2026, at 9:00 A.M.," the minutes state.
Sorenson and Riverview LLC representative Josh Schmidt discussed which roads Redstone Dairy wants improved and whether those projects conflict with Sorenson's 2026 plan. The Board motioned to approve a State Planning & Research Program study with Sorenson coordinating with Riverview to ensure the study would not overlap Riverview’s work; the motion passed unanimously. The board also authorized signatures on two Right‑of‑Way occupancy applications from East River for boring at CR11 and CR2.
