Security committee urges rebid after board rejects two courthouse security bids

Register of Deeds Caryn Hojer, Emergency Manager Kristen Longville and Clerk of Courts Jennifer Malone asked the Board to consider security contract negotiations and security issues. Following executive session and committee review, the Board accepted a recommendation to reject both bids from CommTech and OnSight Security Systems and to have the project engineered to ensure the county procures the equipment it needs while maintaining courthouse integrity.
The motion to reject both bids and proceed with engineering was moved and seconded and carried with a unanimous vote. The board directed staff to pursue engineering options before re‑soliciting proposals.
