Kingsbury County commissioners voted Feb. 17 to impose a temporary countywide burn ban after Emergency Manager Kristen Longville said a high‑wind advisory raised immediate fire concerns. "If she had a discussion with the fire departments and they recommended a burn ban herself and the Chairman can put one in place," Chairman Kyle Lee told Longville before the board approved the ban to begin Feb. 17 and remain in effect at least until the March 3, 2026 meeting.
Longville also presented the Fiscal Year 2025 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) agreement articles and the Board authorized her to sign the documents. The minutes record a motion to authorize Longville to sign the EMPG articles, which commissioners approved unanimously. The board moved briefly into executive session for personnel related matters and returned to open session later the morning without recorded action on the executive session.
