Kingsbury County accepts multiple highway bids for fuel, asphalt, gravel and road oil

Kingsbury County's highway department opened bids and the board accepted recommended vendors for several materials and services. For fuel, Coles Petroleum quoted per-gallon prices (diesel $3.27, #2 diesel $2.97, unleaded ethanol $2.58) and Vollan Oil offered alternate per-gallon pricing; Highway Superintendent Dave Sorenson recommended accepting Vollan Oil's fuel bid and the board voted to accept it. Asphalt mix bids ranged from Jamir Reclamation at $65.00/ton (Class E-1) to Huron and Asphalt Paving & Materials at higher per-ton prices; the board voted to accept all asphalt bids "to be used based on availability and job."
The board accepted Rechnagel Construction's gravel-crushing bid at $2.35/ton for 3/4-inch material and Jebro's road oil bids (MC-70 at $703.74/ton, MC3000 at $892.30/ton, CSS1H at $693.74/ton). Spencer Quarries' quartzite was accepted at $16.00/ton. All motions to accept the various recommended bids carried with unanimous votes from the commissioners.
