The motion to buy the machine passed unanimously after Highway Superintendent Dave Sorenson recommended the purchase and presented financing options (4‑year financing at 5% was discussed but the board approved an outright purchase).
Sorenson also asked to purchase a wire‑feed welder from A‑OX Welding (quote $3,700) and the Board approved acquisition of a welder for up to $5,000. The Board authorized advertising bid letting for the 425th Ave road and bridge improvements during the two weeks of Feb. 8–14 and Feb. 15–21, 2026, with a possible bid opening Feb. 24 and an award scheduled for the March 3 meeting. The County authorized Vice‑Chairman Lundquist to sign the Ottertail right‑of‑way occupancy agreement related to the project.
