Echo Steffensen, the county auditor, called the Kingsbury County Board of County Commissioners to order on Jan. 6, 2026, and the Board conducted its annual reorganizational business. After the Pledge of Allegiance, commissioners nominated and unanimously approved Kyle Lee as chairman and Corey Lundquist as vice chairman.
The Board also voted to retain the prior set of board appointments for 2026. The recorded assignments list Troy Nelson for contract law, health insurance, courthouse assistant duties, emergency management and the railroad authority; Corey Lundquist for First Planning District and labor negotiations; Roger Walls for the Weed Board, Glacial Lakes and 4‑H & Fair Board; Kyle Lee as ICAP liaison and child protection oversight; and Steve Spilde for human services and labor negotiation duties. The motion to keep appointments the same carried with all present voting aye.
The reorganization actions set committee responsibilities that will guide which commissioners serve as liaisons to intergovernmental and county programs through 2026. The Board’s next regular meeting was scheduled for Jan. 20, 2026.
