Keystone reports double-digit sales tax gains as trustees review finances

Finance Officer Samantha Epler reported a sharp year-over-year increase in local sales tax receipts during the Town of Keystone Board of Trustees meeting on March 18, 2026. Epler said BBB sales tax is up 43.3% from the same period last year and that collections for the first and second penny are 51.6% higher than last year.
Trustees immediately moved to approve the March 18 claims, which the agenda listed by fund and vendor. The board approved claims that included a General Fund total of $13,158.17, 211 Fund $12,777.10, 300 Debt Service $36,882.15, Water Fund $4,621.72 and Sewer Fund $26,273.59. Trustee David Cofoid made the motion to approve claims and the board voted unanimously to pass it.
