Neighbors and at least four commissioners said they did not find a hardship sufficient to justify a plat amendment. After hearing public testimony emphasizing safety on the hairpin turn, precedent in the subdivision, and that other nearby lots had been developed within the existing setbacks, the planning commission directed staff to draft a final action letter denying the amendment based on the access and steep‑slope criteria in the Land Management Code. The denial allows the applicant to revise the design and return with a different approach if desired.
