Township Administrator Bob Oliva presented a spreadsheet showing Shawnee County issued building permits totaling $18,926,933 in valuation for Soldier Township over the past year. He told the board the permits represent a substantial valuation increase for the township.
Oliva said two items related to the township were on the county zoning agenda in December. A property on Button Road that was previously owned by the township was approved and zoned as a planned unit development; the project will include 39 houses arranged along both sides of a horseshoe-shaped roadway, with road construction expected in late summer or early fall 2022. He also reported a top-tier, climate-controlled storage facility is planned on property north of the Northern Sky subdivision.
