Fire chief reports 814 calls to date; board approves ESO records-management bid

Fire Chief Chad Lady told the board the department has responded to 814 calls to date and outlined operational items including planned strategic planning and equipment work. He said OSHA will hold a public meeting Nov. 12 in Washington, D.C., on proposed changes and that he will attend remotely.
Chief Lady also said the department purchased a 2012 F-350 chassis to replace the chassis on Brush 73 and is preparing it for installation. Separately, the board accepted a bid for ESO records-management software after receiving three proposals. Member Karl McNorton moved that the township accept the ESO bid with a first-year cost of $8,469.80 less a credit deduction of $1,100.00 and a yearly cost thereafter of $6,684.80; Member Mike Mathes seconded and the motion carried 3-0.
Why it matters: a records-management system affects how incidents, personnel records, and response data are stored and shared with mutual aid or oversight agencies. The chassis purchase and continued vehicle maintenance affect on-the-ground response capability. “At this point, the department has responded to a total of 814 calls.”
