Monroe Township officials urge residents to sign up for Nixle alerts

Monroe Township officials used the Mayor Delina show to press residents to sign up for emergency alerts and follow official channels. Heather Howell, the township’s alert, warning and communications coordinator, said, "We use Nixel emergency alerts... We encourage everybody to register." She gave sign-up instructions on-air: "They can do that by texting 08831 to 888777."
Howell also told viewers the OEM evaluates state and local information and pushes the most pertinent messages through Nixle, the OEM Facebook page and the police department’s Facebook page. Mayor Delina repeated the instruction at the close of the program and urged residents to follow the Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management on Facebook for updates.
