Board approves RG Architects subconsultant retention for gatehouse redesign; $62,500 to be booked as reimbursable

Eric Long presented RG Architects' fee proposal to redesign two gatehouses and provide updated facades and monument coordination across the community. Long said the buildings will receive a facelift rather than be demolished and highlighted the main gate's low clearance, noting it "has been hit 12 times this year." He asked that the design work begin now, with design and permitting estimated at 12 to 18 months.
Board members discussed contracting options and agreed it would be expedient to retain RG as a subconsultant under Bowman Engineering's standard terms and book the $62,500 expenditure as a reimbursable up‑front deferred cost to be invoiced to the CDD once financing is issued and construction begins (projected 2026). On motion by Mr. Blumenthal, seconded by Mr. Mountford, the Board authorized Bowman to retain RG Architects and authorized the Chair to execute documents after District Counsel and District Manager review.
Mr. Long will lead the design work and Mr. Blumenthal will serve as the Board liaison for neighborhood communications; renderings and 3D visuals will be provided to neighborhoods when appropriate.
