The Mission City Council authorized acceptance and recording of an additional right‑of‑way and permanent sidewalk easement, plus temporary construction easements, needed for the Johnson Drive Street reconstruction. Director Stephanie Boyce told the council staff received one more signed easement after the July 16 meeting and asked the council to accept and record it with Johnson County so payment can be issued.
"We received 1 more, that we are asking for acceptance so that we can go ahead and process and record with, the Johnson County records and tax administration department, and pay that parcel what is due to them," Stephanie said, describing staff outreach and the goal of timely payment upon acceptance. She added staff have met with several owners (including some corporate entities) about access and drive‑thru impacts and that some owners have taken approvals to their own boards.
A motion to accept the easement and to authorize the city administrator to execute the easement documents and issue payment was made by Councilmember Debbie, seconded, and passed on a roll call with all members present voting "Aye." The council directed no additional conditions in this session; staff said outreach and on‑site meetings are planned with property owners who still have questions.
